The name of the band 新宿 ゲ バ ル ト refer to the university students who protested in the year 1960 in the guard 新宿 (shinjuku) of 東京, 日本 (tokyo, Japan), These student violently protested the war and the alliance between 日本 (Japan) and the United States.

Pizzicato Five

Pizzicato Five (1985-2001) was a Japanese pop group best known to audiences in the West in their later incarnation as a duo of Maki Nomiya and Yasuharu Konishi. The group was formed in 1985 by Konishi and fellow founding bandmates Keitarō Takanami, Ryō Kamomiya, Mamiko Sasaki, and Shigeo Miyata.
